Part Time Early Childhood Teacher
Mon-Fri Morning Session

Under general direction from the Executive Director, the Early Childhood Teacher will plan, direct, manage, and oversee the activities and operation of the respective Early Childhood programs. The teacher in this position is responsible for meeting the performance standards of the Executive Director and using their experience in the field to provide quality education to all children on behalf of Sweetwater County Child Development Center (SCCDC). 

Formal Education and Certification

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Family and Child Development or Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis or endorsement in Early Childhood Education.

  • Individual should be working towards and committed to earning the Early Childhood Special Education endorsement within a specified amount of time as determined by the individual and Executive Director.


Physical Therapist: 
Responsible for providing a comprehensive physical therapy program to children from birth through age five. This includes screening, assessment, and intervention while adhering to Rules and Regulations Governing Services to Children with Disabilities. The Physical Therapist also directly supervises Physical Therapy Assistants and Physical Therapy students according to the state practice act.

Physical Therapist Assistant:
Responsible for assisting the Physical Therapist in the provision of a comprehensive physical therapy program to children from birth through age five while adhering to Rules and Regulations Governing Services to Children with Disabilities. This includes including screening, assessment, and intervention.

Paraprofessional:

The Education Paraprofessional supports their assigned Teacher by assisting with the planning, direction and management of the department and classroom activities. The paraprofessional is responsible for providing extra care for students in the classroom and will bring their experience in special education and childhood development to supplement the learning experience and care provided to all children in Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center (SCCDC) programs. This is a nonexempt position under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Word, email and calendar functions in Microsoft Outlook.

Familiarity with early childhood education techniques and a good understanding of child development.

 Ability to work independently utilizing therapeutic and educational support

Strong child-oriented approach to providing education and therapy

Demonstrated analytical and ethical judgment making ability.

 Teamwork and collaboration ability.

 Dedicated to punctuality and completing required daily hours.

Ability to maintain privacy and confidentiality.

Ability to communicate with different groups including parents, children, and co-workers.

Patience and the ability to work under stress.

Flexible and able to adapt to changes in the classroom environment.

Ability to apply conflict resolution techniques.


Maintenance Coordinator:

The Regional Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the upkeep of the SCCDC company vehicles, facility upkeep, custodial duties in the Rock Springs building. In addition the individual must communicate with various technicians for the needs of the SCCDC. Hours must be kept before and after students and staff leave. Occasionally this position requires more time than the normal working hours, in case of emergency repairs.


Education and Qualifications

Ø  Maintenance Coordinators shall have a high school diploma or equivalent. Three years’ experience in the field is required and supervisory experience is preferred.

Ø  Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and organizational skills.

Ø  Advanced computer skills

Ø  Lifting, carrying, twisting, bending, and setting down a 50 pound box may be required in the position.

Ø  Because driving is an incidental part of this job, a safe driving record is required.  The maintenance coordinator may have to use his/her personal vehicle for SCCDC business.

Ø  Knowledge of building maintenance

Ø  Knowledge of vehicle maintenance

Ø  Excellent problem solving skills

Ø  Ability to maintain confidentiality of all personally identifiable information (family, client, staff, and board).



Part Time Custodian:

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the facilities at Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center (SCDDC) in a clean manner.  This is a non-exempt position under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.  
Regularly required to transport up to 50 lbs. of equipment from one location to another.  Actions may include lifting, carrying, twisting, bending, and setting down such items.

Ensure that facilities are in a clean condition, including:  

Maintain public areas and restrooms.

Maintain/ clean surface, fence and gates around playground

Clean shelves, fill paper towel dispensers, toilet paper dispensers, and soap dispensers as needed.

Clean office equipment (desks, chairs, file cabinets, etc.)

Clean light fixtures as needed.


Part Time Educational Assistant:

The Educational Assistant supports their assigned Teacher and Paraprofessional by assisting with the planning, direction and management of the department and classroom activities. The assistant is responsible for providing extra care for students in the classroom and will assist with the learning experience and care provided to all children in Sweetwater County Child Developmental Center (SCCDC) programs. This is a nonexempt position under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.
